Matthew Seungheon Nam

Data is the new currency. I plan and design the products that put it to work, with AI.

I turn rule-heavy public programmes into workflows people can run. I learn how a programme actually works, settle the specification with the people who run it, and build a working prototype that reviewers can click through instead of imagining.

More work, earlier and on the side

How I work

Every project runs the same three moves, whatever the domain.

  1. Learn the rules first

Read the programme's statute and process before drawing a screen.

  2. Settle the specification with the people who run it

Sentence by sentence, in a review meeting, so ambiguity does not come back as rework.

  3. Prove it in a working prototype

Screens reviewers click through, built with AI-Figma MCP, then handed to engineers.

G-SEED green building certification

One certification case, followed from quotation to certificate across three roles.

Applicants filed their documents and then could not see what their case was waiting on. I mapped the eight-stage certification process, defined whose data opens each stage, and designed the applicant and certifying-body screens as one shared case. The result is a working browser prototype in which a case moves from quotation to certificate without leaving the flow.

Emissions target management

An administrator's workflow for surveying, designating and hearing appeals from regulated emitters, held in one system instead of spreadsheets and inboxes.

The programme's steps ran on different rules and lived in spreadsheets, documents and one administrator's memory. I mapped the legal duties of each administrator role, separated what is reviewed from how it is handled, and designed one site where five survey types share a single receipt, correction and confirmation procedure. Designations and appeals stay linked to the survey they rest on.

Renewable energy convergence support

The field installer's mobile workflow that the programme's management system did not have.

The existing REMS system held the data the programme required but gave field engineers no way to find a site, connect equipment and record an installation. I reviewed the specification with stakeholders, organised the installer's tasks into one sequence, and turned twelve Figma screens into a working React mobile prototype, including a capacity chart that switches between by-source and total views.

About

About Matthew

I studied Environments and Digital Systems Design at Carnegie Mellon. At KGCT I led three operational-system prototypes as Project Manager / Service Designer. Before that I designed campaign content for Samsung.com at DND Lab. On every project I learn the domain's rules before drawing, settle the specification with the people who own the process, and build the prototype so reviewers click through real transitions.
